EXPERIENCE
Join an engaging nature walk from Hamish & Libby’s hilltop steading through an ancient Caledonian Pine Forest. Start with coffee and a chat, meeting Rue, their resident owl. Hamish then shares their sustainable living vision amidst spectacular Tay valley views. After the walk tuck into a farm-sourced lunch, either outdoors in the hills or in the Bothy if the weather’s bad.

From angling on the River Tay to fishing the many lochs surrounding Dun Aluinn, there’s no shortage of options for a day on the water. We provide all the necessary equipment and transport you in Land Rovers, accompanied by skilled Ghillies, the country’s traditional fishing and hunting guides, to ensure an unforgettable day.
GOLF AT
ICONIC COURSES
As part of our pre-arrival Concierge service, we can book tee times at some of Scotland’s most iconic courses. Gleneagles (home of the Ryder Cup 2014) is a 50-minute drive, St Andrews, the historic Home of Golf where you’ll find the legendary Old Course is 90 minutes away, while Blairgowrie’s championship course is a 45-minute drive. Just 30 minutes away Crieff golf course, which dates back to 1891, has been rated one of Scotland’s top inland courses. We can also arrange transport if required.

Accompanied by your kilted Safari Ranger, delve into Scotland’s culture, history, wildlife and awe-inspiring landscapes. Equipped with cameras and binoculars, you will embark on a Land Rover expedition through the Highlands, exploring a terrain shaped by nature and rich in historical, cultural and natural wonders.

Experience an unforgettable journey to the Isle of Skye, departing directly from Dun Aluinn. Land at historic Eilean Donan Castle which has appeared in films from Highlander to The World is Not Enough before flying on to Skye for a refreshing dip in the magical Fairy Pools. Indulge in a gourmet lunch at either the legendary Three Chimneys or Kinloch Lodge returning via the iconic Glenfinnan Viaduct, made famous by Harry Potter.

PONY PICNIC
Immerse yourself in the Scottish landscape and history on a traditional Highland Pony Picnic, exclusive to Dun Aluinn guests. Arrive at a remote estate by 4x4 or helicopter and enjoy a guided walk through moorland to a scenic picnic spot with a Ballintaggart Farm hamper. The day includes a private falconry display with expert handlers, allowing guests, including children, to fly different birds of prey. Hosted by Sandgrouse Travel, the adventure is led by a traditional Pony-man.

A HAUNTED EVENING
AT CASTLE MENZIES
One of our most popular experiences at Dun Aluinn, Castle Menzies is the ancestral home of the Clan Menzies. Guests can book the castle for the evening, with dinner in the castle’s old kitchen with its enormous stone fireplace. Castle Menzies is one of the most haunted castles in Scotland and the tour of the castle by candlelight with a local storyteller is not for the faint hearted…
Scottish Crannog Centre Evening ExperiencE
An unforgettable evening on the banks of Loch Tay with traditional music and local stories. This exclusive experience at the Crannog Centre includes a private tour and object handling session of 2500-year-old artefacts. Savour a dram of local whisky by the fireside as a storyteller shares regional folk tales and a musician plays traditional Scots tunes. Tuck into traditional smoked trout from Loch Tay and handmade bread cooked over the open fire.
